When you’re not towing, this base plate keeps your vehicle looking stock. The tabless setup leaves no crossbar or bulky brackets sticking out, and the tabs stay attached to your tow bar instead of the front bumper. Snap-in polyethylene covers seal off the receivers when stored, keeping dirt and debris out so the arms glide in smoothly every time you connect.
Hooking up is simple and solid. Each tow bar arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pull pin for peace of mind on the road. When it’s time to disconnect, just pull the pin, twist, and remove the arm. The bracket spacing is 22-1/4" center-to-center with a bracket height of 18-3/4", giving you reliable alignment specs for your setup.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis without welding. The heavy-duty steel frame spreads towing forces evenly to help reduce stress on suspension components. Once installed, it’s a dependable connection built to handle long miles of towing without flex or fatigue.
No need to start over if you already have gear you like. It connects directly to all Demco Victory Series tow bars and can be adapted for use with Demco Kwik-Tow or other manufacturers’ tow bars using the correct adapter (sold separately). That flexibility makes it easy to integrate this kit into an existing towing system without extra hassle.
You can install this on a free weekend with basic tools—no welding required. The kit bolts securely to the frame and comes with everything you need, including detailed instructions, mounting hardware, and an electrical bracket for attaching a round connector plug up front. It’s a straightforward job that results in a clean, professional-looking finish.

I use only Demco baseplates as they are the only brand that mount with no cutting or drilling. The Excalibar tow bar is very well made and handles my Jeep Gladiator with ease. It's also very simple and easy to hook and unhook. The excellent "how to" videos from etrailer sure helped me make the correct purchase decision.
Was able to install without issues using 2 washers between base plate and the upper brace and none on the bottom, otherwise followed the video. Works great!
Just installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate and included 6 pin wire bracket. It was very straightforward and anyone who is a little mechanically inclined, can do it with ease. The etrailer video was incredibly helpful. I followed it step by step and had no issues. I love that it is a direct bolt-to-frame base plate and does not need any modifications. I spent a bit more time cutting out the gravel guard to form-fit the tabless connectors. The adapters are sleek and blend right in to the front end. Love how it turned out.

I am a first time RV owner and was looking for a way to flat tow my Jeep Wrangler. etrailer made it so easy for me to understand what I should be doing and the best and safest way to accomplish it. But that was not all. I was having issues trying to find shipping options as I had a time crunch. I phoned them, customer service was awesome. They helped me place the order and get it to my home within my time requirements. I honestly recommend them and can only wish that other companies could treat customers the way they do here. Awesome! The videos on the product pages are the best!
Delivery time was outstanding. Watched the installation video several times before beginning. Did a "dry" fit of the base into the bumper and found it would not fit. It required 1/4 inch of excess metal to be ground off of each end. This did not affect the part but certainly increased labor time. Rather than clamp the base to the vehicle for drilling, I suggest bolting it in for a more accurate placement.
So far so good. Packages came intact. Everything unpacked and looks ready to go. I’ll keep you up to date on the installation. Thanks Jessica and team for keeping me up to date on the delivery.
This base plate is of exceptional value and construction. It was fairly easy to install on my 2008 Jeep Wrangler by myself but would have been quicker if I had an extra set of hands. Overall I am extremely happy with how the base plate looks and the customer service was above and beyond expectations. I would recommend the base plate and you don't have to look anywhere else than etrailers for what you need.

I installed this base plate on my 2008 Jeep Wrangler a year ago. We just came off our second trip in that year and we have driven over 13,000 miles. This base plate is a beast and has performed fantastically with no problems or errors. Typical hook up time for my Jeep from start to finish is less than 5 minutes and this includes installing my RVI Break 3 system. I can not stress any harder that this base plate is, in my opinion, the best you can buy.
